NORTH OF IRELAND WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW, 24th September, 2022, BELFAST

It was a great honour to be invited to judge the North of Ireland WHWT Club Championship Show and the Belfast Dog Show Society General Championship Show. My first time awarding CC in the UK was not only an honour for me but also an unforgettable moment. WHWT Championship Show was very well organized with a lovely decorated ring and good atmosphere that I really enjoyed. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the committee and stewards who made my judging much easier! General quality was almost comparable to European Specialties but I was pleased to see some Westies of very high quality in my ring and at the end of the show, it was nice to hear that my WHWT CC bitch and later Best in Show got her 48th CC, equalling the breed record held by the Crufts BIS Winner in 1990.

Best In Show Ch. Burneze Our Marnie (Mrs A. and Miss M. Burns)
Dog Challenge Certificate Havasu Hot Persuit (J. Jenkins, M. Owens, M. Western, K. Crockett)

Class No. 2 - Puppy Dog 2(0)
1. Hopecharm Northern Star (S. Fryer) - very attractive, well balanced, and well presented dog, moderate size, strong bone and correct substance for the age, strong masculine head with good proportions, excellent pigmentation and lovely dark eyes, well set ears, good bite, correct topline with a strong level back, neck well placed into the shoulders, high set tail, excellent coat texture, well prepared, excellent angulations both ends, moved well, needs time to get stronger in loin and would prefer slightly more body behind the tail, it will be interesting to follow his career, Res. 2. Burneze He Who Dare Wins (Mrs A. and Miss M. Burns) - rather higher than No. 1, very elegant perspective dog, good bone and substance, masculine head with excellent pigmentation, dark eyes, correct ears, would like to see a more defined stop, correct bite, lovely neck, nice topline and correct tail set, slightly upright shoulder blade, still not enough developed front, good length of ribcage, well angulated behind, good coat texture, moved well

Class No. 3 - Junior Dog 1(0)
1. Ashgate Kelvin (Mrs S. Thomson) - strong very well developed dog for his age, compact body, excellent length of legs, good head, correct ears placement, dark eyes and correct pigmentation, distinct stop, good bite, would prefer bit longer neck, short strong back, tail set high, good depth of strong ribcage, excellent substance, front angulation slightly open, excellent hind quarters, moved with very good drive from behind.
